Much of my writing career has been focused in the field of travel, tourism, and hospitality. Since 2011, I have been the author of a popular travel column called Travel Advisory, which is published bimonthly in Merrimack Valley Magazine, a lifestyle publication covering northeastern Massachusetts and southeastern New Hampshire (circ.75,000). The column generally covers destinations within driving distance of the magazine’s readership, but I have also written about topics like travel to San Juan, P.R., after hurricane Maria, Bermuda, and destinations that are farther away, like New York City, Montreal, and Quebec’s little-known wine region.
I have also written travel features for other publications including the now defunct The Bean Magazine, a nationally circulated quarterly magazine that focused on coffee, tea, cafe culture, and the arts.
For a few years I worked as an editor at the travel website TripAdvisor. I also worked as a copywriter and did marketing and public relations work for the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism as well as for private travel and tour companies, hotels and wineries. My writing has also appeared in various Fodor’s and Frommer’s travel guides.
